Our Lord Jesus left distinct commands to the church.  We are to carry the Gospel to every creature.  As a Bible believing church we take the command of our Saviour serious, in reaching our city for Christ “…and unto the uttermost part of the earth” Acts 1:8.  There is no place to stop.  May God use you as a Bible believing Christian to join in the Great Commission and help bring sinners to trust Christ.

Soul winners Checklist

How do you know if you’re a soul winner?

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” Proverbs 11:30

You follow the New Testament pattern. 

Our Lord Jesus said in Matthew 4:19 “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”.  The pattern for winning souls is following Christ.  When we are following Christ we will be fishing for men. 

You have a deep concern for the lost.

The Bible says in Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  When our heart is right with the Lord Jesus and we are following Him, our heart will be in tune to what He is after.  The Lord is after Sinners He has a deep concern for them and when our heart is right with Him we will have a deep concern for sinners.

You have compassion for people.

The Bible says in Matthew 9:36 “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion…” How do you see the multitudes?  Do you see them as Jesus saw them?  Do you see them as lost human beings under Gods condemnation?  When we see people like the Lord sees them we see that our job is not to get them into church or have a good time or talk about church but to get them to trust Christ because of their need to be saved from their sins.  It’s this compassion that will help you turn your heart to plead and pray for that lost sinner to trust Christ.

You see your command as a Christian is to win souls.

Before our Lord was ascended up into glory He left this command in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Many people think it’s not my job to witness for Christ, but in reality the Bible says “Go Ye” that means you.  Many think that it’s the Pastors job or the missionary’s job, but not my job!  There is no greater joy than being used of God to lead people to Christ.  If the Holy Spirit of God lives in you then Jesus said in Luke 24:48 “And ye are witnesses of these things.”

You do not let discouragement, humiliation, or fear keep you from obeying the Great Commission.

We all struggle with this because it comes down to our pride.  The Bible says in II Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  We must realize that God wants to use us to get His marvelous message of salvation out to a lost and dying world.
